This weekend marks the start of the Visma Alp Trophy competition, and first out is Kaiser Maximilian Lauf, a challenging race across the majestic landscape of the Austrian Alps.
Visma Ski Classics features some of the world’s most prestigious and traditional ski races, such as Marcialonga, Vasaloppet and Birkebeinerrennet.
Visma added the Visma Alp Trophy as a new element to the competition last season. The trophy, along with prize money, is awarded to the overall winners of four events taking place in the Alps in January and February.
“We are excited to kick off the first race of 2019, and hope to see some fierce competition over the prestigious Visma Alp Trophy, which adds an element of excitement to the first part of the season, said Visma CEO Øystein Moan.
Visma recently entered its fourth season as title sponsor, and the sponsorship has made a big impact in making Visma a well-known brand across Europe. The number of viewers increases every year, with over 20 million people watching the televised events last season.
“Visma Ski Classics enables us to reach out to a broad audience group through the unique context of cross-country skiing. The skiers have the same level of commitment to skiing as we do to software development, making the sponsorship a great fit for Visma”, stated the CEO.
Kaiser Maximilian Lauf starts this Saturday, January 12 at 08:45 CET.
