Visma acquires OptiWay – experts in geographic IT

Visma expands its offering by acquiring OptiWay, a fast-growing Swedish company with expertise in geographic IT services and solutions. The demand for solutions in this area has increased sharply as the continued digitalisation keeps pushing forward.

The need for new solutions for geographic IT and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) will remain high in the future. Visma predicts that digitalisation in sectors such as city planning, engineering, energy and banking will drive the demand even further. Therefore, Visma Consulting will broaden its range of services and solutions in this area by acquiring OptiWay, a small but fast-growing company.

– OptiWay offers a new view on the geographic IT marketplace, with cloud solutions connected to a large amount of data sources, which can be run directly without initial investment. They are also experts in building customised solutions for larger customers, said Carsten Boje Møller, Division Director in Visma.

– OptiWay's strength is also confirmed by a strong inflow of new business and customers. With OptiWay's solutions as a part of our offering, Visma becomes even more competitive as the digitalisation partner for larger organisations and companies, he continued.

– With Visma as our main owner, OptiWay can continue as a strong IT service provider to the Nordic market in geographic IT. At the same time, we get great opportunities to find synergies and new business opportunities that further strengthens our offering to existing and new customers, said Kristofer Turland, CEO of OptiWay.

OptiWay will operate as an independent company within the Visma Group under the Custom Solutions division.
