Holmgren holds a PhD in Economics from Linköping University (Sweden). He is professor of Transport Economics and is currently working as Dean of the Faculty of logistics at Molde University College. Holmgren has more than 20 years of experience in teaching and research from the Swedish and Norwegian university sector. The research has covered a range of topics within Transport Economics, including demand and mode choice analysis, optimal pricing of transport services, city logistics, effects of transport policies and investments in infrastructure and planning of efficient urban transport systems. Holmgren has been project leader for several research projects focusing on modal shift and the effects of investments in infrastructure, funded by governmental agencies.
