EIA Report for Kokkola lithium chemical plant to the authorities

Keliber Oy ("Keliber") has submitted the Environmental Impact Assessment Report ("EIA Report") of the Kokkola lithium chemical plant ("chemical plant") to the authorities.

Keliber has submitted the EIA report of the Kokkola lithium chemical plant to the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of South Ostrobothnia ("ELY Center"). The chemical plant's EIA report covers the heat treatment and hydrometallurgical processing of the spodumene concentrate up to the final packaging and shipping.

"We have accomplished broad environmental assessments of the current state of the environment and potential impacts of our operations. The company has discussed with local residents and industrial neighbors of Kokkola Industrial Park area in connection with the preparation of the EIA report, says Kari Wiikinkoski, Environmental Manager of Keliber Oy.

"We are pleased that the chemical plant planning has reached this stage. Kokkola Industrial Park is an excellent operating environment for Keliber Li-hydroxide production. On the basis of the EIA report we are in a good position to continue the on-going preparations of the environmental permit application for the chemical plant", says Pertti Lamberg, CEO of Keliber Oy.

All those whom the planned operations may affect in the future can participate in the EIA process. The EIA report is available in Finnish on the company's website and also on the Environmental Administration website.

A public meeting on the environmental impact assessment reports will be held on April. The exact date will be announced later.
